I have had the desire to learn how to tech on airsoft guns for a long time. The intricate moving parts made me want to know more, I decided it would be a bad idea to attempt this on my krytac CRB. I didn’t want to lose upwards of three hundred dollars to learn this. I decided to get a lancer tactical m4, I chose this gun for a number of reasons, first it was cheap, plain and simple, second, it has a full metal version 2 gearbox. So with my new gun I set off to learn to tech. I figured the best way to learn was to try to take it apart and put it back together, and still have it work… As it turned out it wasn’t very hard.
The first step was to remove the hand guard and battery plug.
Next was the body pins to let the upper receiver come off.
After removing the mag catch, buffer tube, and pistol grip the gearbox came out.
Once the gearbox was out I got it open and started removing pieces. After everything was out I started reassembling it, after it was together I tested it and it worked! This was something I found very fun and will probably do over and over. ~Eldestrock
